Inventory Supervisor – Temp-to-Hire

Location: Plainfield, IN
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM + overtime as needed
Salary: $60,000-$65,000 per year

About the Position

We are looking for an experienced Inventory Supervisor / Inventory Control Supervisor to lead a small team of Inventory Control Specialists and help maintain accurate, efficient warehouse inventory operations.

This is a hands-on position focused on inventory control, cycle counting, replenishment, product slotting, inventory audits, and warehouse efficiency.

The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, comfortable working with warehouse systems, and able to lead a team in a fast-paced distribution environment.

What You'll Do

• Lead and support a team of Inventory Control Specialists.
• Run consolidation, replenishment, and velocity reports.
• Review inventory reports and delegate daily tasks accordingly.
• Ensure daily cycle counting activities are completed accurately and on time.
• Oversee inventory audits and investigate discrepancies.
• Maintain inventory placement integrity throughout the warehouse.
• Minimize inventory-related disruptions to inbound and outbound operations.
• Identify and resolve product slotting issues.
• Develop and implement slotting strategies to improve picking accuracy and efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to improve inventory workflows and processes.
• Work closely with warehouse operations, inbound, and outbound teams.
• Operate forklift equipment and provide hands-on support when needed.
• Monitor inventory data and identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Use Lean/Six Sigma principles to improve processes.
• Coach, motivate, and support team members.
• Meet deadlines both independently and as part of a team.
• Support extended hours during peak season.
• Communicate directly with the General Manager regarding inventory operations.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, distribution, or logistics.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Experience with WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) and OMS (Order Management Systems).
• Strong understanding of RF scanners and warehouse inventory functions.
• Experience with cycle counting, inventory audits, replenishment, and inventory accuracy.
• Experience with warehouse slotting and product placement.
• Ability to operate forklift equipment.
• Kitting experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working with reports and inventory data.
• Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma methodologies is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to motivate and lead a team.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work extended hours during peak season.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, but not required.
