Lingo Staffing is Hiring – Design Drafter | SolidWorks & AutoCAD in the Sanford, FL area to start ASAP!

Design Drafter – Responsible for creating, modifying, and maintaining detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD for manufacturing and metal fabrication projects. This position involves designing steel and sheet metal components, structural assemblies, equipment layouts, and fabrication drawings based on customer specifications and production requirements. The ideal candidate must have at least 3 years of professional SolidWorks and AutoCAD experience, with steel and sheet metal design experience REQUIRED. Strong attention to detail, mechanical understanding, and the ability to collaborate with drafting managers and shop personnel are essential.

Pay & Schedule:

• $25.00 – $28.00 per hour (Based on Experience)
• 1^st shift: Monday-Friday: 5:00AM – 4:30PM

Job Responsibilities & Requirements:

• Create, modify, and maintain detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Minimum 3 years of professional SolidWorks experience REQUIRED (excluding education).
• Steel and sheet metal design/fabrication experience REQUIRED.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience working with SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Associate degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field, or CAD certification.
• Design steel and sheet metal components, structural assemblies, fabrication layouts, and mechanical parts.
• Develop accurate manufacturing drawings based on customer specifications and project requirements.
• Collaborate with drafting managers, engineers, and fabrication teams to ensure designs meet production requirements.
• Research materials, components, and hardware to ensure proper fit, function, and mechanical relationships.
• Identify and resolve design issues throughout the drafting and manufacturing process.
• Maintain drawing revisions and follow established drafting standards and document control procedures.
• Support manufacturing teams with technical drawing updates and design modifications.
• Manage multiple drafting projects while meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy.
• Previous experience in metal fabrication or a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of steel structures, sheet metal components, and mechanical assemblies.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and manufacturing specifications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with production teams.
• Experience designing steel fabrication components and structural assemblies.
• Knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes, bending, cutting, and welding.
• Experience developing production-ready fabrication drawings.
• Familiarity with manufacturing documentation and drawing revision control.
