PICKER/PACKER

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Picker/Packer is responsible for accurately picking, packing, and preparing customer orders for shipment. This position verifies products and quantities, protects items during packing, prepares completed orders for carrier pickup, and supports accurate inventory while maintaining a safe and organized warehouse.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Accurately pick customer orders using pick tickets and established warehouse procedures.
• Verify part numbers, products, and quantities before packing each order.
• Retrieve products from the correct warehouse locations and report missing or damaged items.
• Maintain order accuracy while meeting daily productivity expectations.
• Package customer orders to protect products during transportation.
• Prepare completed shipments for carrier pickup according to shipping requirements.
• Verify completed orders and shipping labels before shipment.
• Load completed shipments for outbound delivery using safe handling practices.
• Restock bins, remove packaging materials, maintain a clean work area, and assist with other warehouse duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Ability to accurately read part numbers, pick tickets, shipping labels, and warehouse locations.
• Strong counting, organization, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and established warehouse procedures.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous warehouse, picking, packing, shipping, or inventory experience preferred but not required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during an 8- to 9-hour shift.
• Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, grasp, and perform repetitive motions.
• Ability to push, pull, maneuver carts, read labels, verify products, and safely handle merchandise throughout the workday.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Work is performed in a warehouse with moving equipment, varying temperatures, dust, and moderate noise. Employees must follow safety procedures and wear assigned personal protective equipment.
