CNC Mill Machine Operator
Location:Atlanta,GA
Pay: $35-$40 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Overtime: Available based on workload and business needs
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced CNC Mill Machine Operator with strong machining skills and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating CNC milling equipment, setting up and monitoring machine cycles, interpreting blueprints and technical documents, and inspecting finished parts to ensure they meet required specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Machine Operation
- Load, secure, and unload raw materials and workpieces into CNC milling machines.
- Operate CNC mill equipment safely and efficiently.
- Monitor machine operations and ensure production runs smoothly.
Machine Setup & Monitoring
- Set up machines and start/program machine cycles as required.
- Monitor machining operations for errors, unusual vibration, tool wear, or other issues.
- Adjust feed rates, speeds, offsets, and other machine settings as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Identify and address basic machine or tooling issues during production.
Blueprint & Technical Documentation
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, work instructions, and technical documents.
- Understand dimensional tolerances and machining specifications.
- Follow production instructions and established machining procedures.
Quality Control
- Inspect and measure completed parts to verify they meet blueprint specifications.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools.
- Identify out-of-tolerance parts and make appropriate machine adjustments when necessary.
- Maintain consistent quality throughout the production process.
Maintenance & Safety
- Remove metal chips and debris from machines and work areas.
- Maintain proper coolant and lubrication levels.
- Perform routine machine cleaning and basic maintenance.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
- Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience operating CNC milling machines.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, feeds, speeds, and tolerances.
- Experience using precision measuring tools, including calipers and micrometers.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic machining and tooling issues.
- Ability to work independently and follow production schedules.
- Commitment to workplace safety and maintaining a clean work environment.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a skilled CNC machinist/operator who can confidently operate and monitor a CNC mill, make necessary adjustments during production, accurately inspect finished parts, and work from blueprints and technical specifications with minimal supervision.
