Material Handler

Lingo Staffing is now hiring Material Handlers in the Fox Chapel, PA area to start ASAP!
 
Material Handler– Supports daily shipping, receiving, packing, inventory, and material-handling operations. Ensures orders and incoming materials are accurate, properly documented, safely handled, and shipped on time, including domestic, international, and hazardous-material shipments when assigned and qualified.

 Pay rate: $17.00 – $19.00 Hourly (Based on Experience)
 
Schedule:

• 1st shift: Monday – Friday: 7:00AM – 3:30PM
• Must be available to work weekends and overtime as needed.

 
Job Requirements & Duties:

• Pick, inspect, label, pack, palletize, and prepare products for shipment; verify orders against pick slips, packing slips, and bills of lading.
• Receive and inspect incoming shipments; verify item numbers and quantities, document damage or shortages, and route materials to the correct department.
• Prepare shipping documents, manifests, and inventory transactions using company ERP/inventory systems (including JDE and handheld scanners, as applicable).
• Coordinate carriers and shipping methods, including expedited, domestic, and international shipments when assigned.
• Follow applicable DOT, IATA, IMDG, and hazardous-material shipping requirements; check documentation and packaging for compliance.
• Load and unload trucks; move materials using approved warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and drum dollies when trained and authorized.
• Maintain shipping supplies, accurate inventory records, and first-in, first-out (FIFO) practices while meeting customer requirements.
• Keep work areas organized; visually inspect products, report discrepancies, and communicate shipping or equipment issues promptly.
• Follow all company safety, quality, 5S, and workplace procedures; perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent experience; shipping/receiving experience preferred. The Woburn source specifies 4-6 years of experience for its Shipper/Receiver role.
• Ability to read shipping paperwork, safety data sheets (SDS), and instructions; basic math, attention to detail, and clear written and verbal communication.
• Experience with packing, inventory control, and ERP/MRP systems; JDE, Microsoft Office, and carrier systems are helpful.
• Knowledge of hazardous-material handling/shipping where assigned. DOT and forklift qualification may be required for Pittsburgh duties; IATA/DOT and forklift certifications are preferred in the Woburn source.
• Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
