Welder - Tier 1 Location: Oklahoma City, OK Position Type: Full-Time Shift: Day Shift Pay Rate: $22.00 per hourType: Direct Hire Education Level: High School Diploma or equivalent Experience Level: Entry Job Summary: Lingo Staffing, on behalf of our client in Oklahoma City, is seeking a Tier 1 Welder to assist in the day-to-day functions of the Weld Department. Responsibilities include welding and prepping carbon steel valve bodies, with a focus on safety, precision, and teamwork.Essential Job Functions:
Operate various equipment using stick welding processes
welding on carbon steel or stainless steel.
Read and interpret engineering prints, drawings, and documents
weld in a 40-degree angle down and 40-degree angle
Work individually and collaboratively as part of a team
Identify and verify parts and materials
Verify the accuracy of all required paperwork
Periodically inspect tools and equipment for accuracy and deficiencies
Ensure job orders remain with parts at all times
Sandblast and clean various components while standing for extended periods
Observe and follow all safety practices as directed by the Weld Department Supervisor and company policy
Weld carbon steel valve bodies and bonnets
Support and assist in other departments as needed
Perform additional duties as assigned
Skills Required:
Proficiency operating equipment using stick welding processes
Ability to read engineering prints and drawings
Strong multitasking and prioritization skills
Ability to work independently and within a team
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to lift 51 lbs or more with a lifting partner
Punctual and reliable attendance
Ability to become certified on the SMAW101 Weld Test
