This dual-role position involves operating a 24-foot stake bed truck for deliveries within a 3-hour radius, as well as assisting with general warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will have strong driving experience, good interpersonal communication skills and basic computer proficiency. Key Responsibilities:
Driving & Delivery (Approx. 50%)
Operate a 24-foot stake bed truck for local and regional deliveries.
Secure heavy steel or metal plates using straps, chains, and binders to ensure safe transport.
Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain accurate delivery logs.
Deliver materials within a 3-hour radius of the warehouse, ensuring timely and professional service.
Interact with customers on-site in a courteous and professional manner.
Warehouse Operations (Approx. 50%):
Load and unload trucks using forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials and products.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
Perform inventory checks and support shipping/receiving operations.
Utilize basic computer systems for inventory management and shipping documentation.
Qualifications:
Valid driver’s license with fewer than 5 points.
Experience operating a 24-foot stake bed or similar commercial vehicle.
Ability to properly strap down and secure large, heavy materials.
Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one.
Basic computer literacy (email, data entry, inventory systems).
Strong verbal communication and customer service skills.
Ability to lift up to 50lbs and work in a physically active environment.
Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous warehouse and delivery driving experience.
Familiarity with DOT regulations and local delivery routes.
Experience handling steel, industrial equipment, or heavy-duty materials.
