Job Summary: The Tool Crib Manager is responsible for overseeing the orderly storage, inventory control, and management of all raw materials, production supplies, and company tools. This role ensures efficient operations by maintaining accurate inventory records, establishing reorder points, and managing requisitions for replacement items.
Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain inventory control systems for raw materials, production supplies, and tools, including setting reorder points and tracking monthly usage.
Requisition replacement items following established procedures to ensure uninterrupted production and operational needs.
Organize, maintain, and secure all materials, supplies, and tools in the tool crib area.
Utilize basic mathematical skills for determining box sizes, shapes, etc., using measuring tools such as tape measures and blueprints.
Handle shipping and receiving activities, ensuring accurate inventory management during these processes.
Maintain proficiency in computer systems to track inventory, generate reports, and manage requisitions.
Operate forklifts safely and efficiently as required for material handling within the facility.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company policies related to inventory management and tool crib operations.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations.
Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures.
Valid driver’s license.
Proficiency in using computers and inventory management software.
Forklift certification or ability to obtain one.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach during the shift.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in inventory control or tool crib management.
Additional training or certifications related to inventory management or materials handling.
