Job Description
Essential Job Functions:
Benefits Administration
- Assists with the administration of employee health, welfare and retirement plans including 401(k) Retirement Plan, Medical/Dental/Vision/Rx, Short-term Disability, Long-term Disability, Leave of Absence, Flexible Spending (Section 125), COBRA, EAP and various wellness initiatives.
- Coordinates and Conducts benefit enrollment meetings with new hires as needed.
- Coordinates benefit plan enrollments and terminations. Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record keeping and proper deductions.
- Assists with annual open enrollment period(s). Arranges for distribution of materials from carriers, assists with communicating changes to employees.
- Acts as liaison between employee and insurance providers and to resolve benefit related problems and ensure effective utilization of plans.
- Ensures plans are administered in accordance with regulations and plan provisions are followed.
- Processes monthly billings from insurance providers. Reviews billings for accuracy and processes for payment.
Recruitment
- Works with hiring managers to clarify staffing needs and requirements.
- Performs recruitment activities, interviews, and evaluates candidates for exempt and nonexempt full-time/part-time employees, as well as students and temporary employees.
- Administers pre-employment tests; conducts background, reference, and past employment verifications.
- Develops and maintains affirmative action program data; maintains records and reports for compliance. Assists with preparation of annual plan. Performs outreach to community sources as needed.
- Ensures recruitment job packets are audited and in compliance with internal and external requirements
- Coordinates co-pilot program to ensure successful onboarding of new hires and transferred employees.
Employee Relations
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with employees.
- Conducts employee counseling, disciplinary actions, termination procedures, and exit interviewing as needed.
- Organizes and executes employee relations rewards, incentives, and events as needed.
- Conducts new-hire orientation, benefits enrollment and onboarding activities as needed.
- Manages Workers Compensation claims administration and monitors employee’s injury status and return to work programs.
Training & Development
- Oversees employee performance review process; including distribution, routing, approval and record keeping.
- Assists with implementation of Managed Talent Development (MTD) and Performance Improvement Plans (PIP) as needed.
- Develops and delivers training programs on a variety of subject matters as assigned.
- Ensures accurate record keeping and reporting of training activity by employee; point of contact for all compliance inquiries.
- Coordinates upkeep of training matrix requirements with Quality Department.
- Administration
Serves as subject matter expert on HRIS system; maintains records, compiles reports, performs analytics, trains others as needed.
Supervises subordinate Human Resource team members and/or other administrative support staff as assigned.
Executes programs and projects as assigned, including but not limited to FAA Repair Station Covered Employees, Policy Deployment Initiatives, etc.
Additional Duties:
Provide support for Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives, companywide.
Other duties, reporting, special assignments or projects as needed and assigned.
Qualifications:
- Advanced computer skills in MSOffice, HRIS system experience (UltiPro preferred).
- Strong working knowledge of EEO, AAP, COBRA, FMLA and other related regulations required.
- Excellent verbal/written communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. Must be able to effectively communicate, present information, and respond to questions from team members at all levels.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Human Resources (PHR/SPHR) certification preferred.
- Must be willing to submit to and satisfactorily pass any pre-employment screening required for employment (i.e., drug screen, background check, eye exam, hearing exam, etc.) and any subsequent testing required for the position during employment.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50 percent of the time.
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office or shop floor to access work supplies, tools, machinery, etc.
Education:
Bachelor's degree and five (5+) years of Human Resources experience in benefits administration and recruiting, OR five plus (5+) years of experience in an equivalent HR role.
