Production Supervisor – Custom Manufacturing Location: On-Site | Roanoke, VA Pay: $65,000–$75,000 Position Summary Lingo Staffing is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead daily operations within a custom manufacturing environment in Roanoke, VA. This role oversees a team working across defined production stations where made-to-order custom products are manufactured. The environment is high mix, medium volume, requiring close attention to quality, workflow, and team development rather than high-speed mass production.
The Production Supervisor plays a hands-on leadership role, ensuring efficient operations, consistent quality, and a safe, well-organized production floor. Key Responsibilities
Lead and support daily operations across multiple production stations in a custom manufacturing environment
Establish and maintain departmental goals, performance standards, and housekeeping expectations
Conduct employee performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and feedback
Oversee quality standards throughout the production process, including in-process and final inspections
Ensure custom products meet established specifications and workmanship standards
Develop, document, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Coordinate and deliver onboarding and ongoing training for production team members
Promote company values, culture, and commitment to quality and customer satisfaction
Motivate and engage team members through visible leadership and a positive, solution-oriented approach
Ensure all work is performed safely and efficiently in compliance with OSHA requirements
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in workflow, quality, and team effectiveness
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; post-secondary education preferred
Minimum of two years of supervisory experience in a production, assembly, or manufacturing environment
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to manage workflow and material movement in a high mix production setting
Working knowledge of inventory control, basic accounting concepts, and shipping processes
Proven experience leading teams in a hands-on, non–high-volume manufacturing environment
Demonstrated commitment to process improvement, employee development, and quality outcomes
