Position Overview
We’re partnering with a well-established and growing manufacturer to identify a Plant Manager to lead day-to-day operations within the facility. This role is central to the success of the facility and will oversee production flow, workforce management, scheduling, inventory, and quality. The ideal candidate is highly organized, people-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment. This individual will play a key role in building systems that promote accountability, efficiency, and consistent operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all daily factory operations, including production planning, scheduling, staffing, and quality control.
Lead, motivate, and manage teams across cutting, sewing, assembly, upholstery, and shipping departments.
Track, analyze, and report on KPIs such as production output, efficiency, scrap rate, rework, on-time delivery, and TACT time to drive productivity and profitability.
Implement and continuously improve processes and systems to reduce bottlenecks and improve operational performance.
Partner closely with senior leadership to forecast demand, manage workflow, and allocate labor and resources effectively.
Ensure products are delivered on time and meet company quality and design standards.
Manage and strengthen vendor relationships, including negotiating pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules for materials and supplies.
Enforce safety, compliance, and housekeeping standards throughout the facility.
Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and pride in American-made craftsmanship.
Collaborate with HR and leadership on hiring, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
5+ years of operations management experience in a furniture or upholstery manufacturing environment.
Proven leadership experience with the ability to build, coach, and retain high-performing teams.
Strong understanding of production flow, scheduling, and capacity planning.
Experience implementing KPIs, TACT time measurement, process improvements, and lean manufacturing principles.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable working in a hands-on, high-energy, growth-oriented environment.
Experience with production software or ERP systems (Cruise Control, NetSuite, or similar preferred).
