Job Description
Production Technician (2nd Shift)
Position Summary
Responsible for preparing lens materials for production, including pulling and verifying lens blanks, maintaining inventory, operating equipment, and performing quality checks. This role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced lab environment.
Employment Type: Full-Time, 2nd Shift
Key Responsibilities
Pull correct lens blanks based on work orders
Match lenses with job trays, frames, and tickets
Perform pre-inspection, taping, and blocking
Receive, scan, label, and stock lenses
Maintain accurate inventory and conduct cycle counts
Keep stockroom organized and notify low stock levels
Operate surfacing equipment
Troubleshoot minor machine issues
Cut, edge, and shape lenses
Inspect lenses for quality standards
Verify lens powers
Record breakage and ensure reprocessing
Maintain workflow with team members
Communicate issues and support improvements
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to read optical prescriptions
Strong attention to detail and hand-eye coordination
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
2+ years optical lab experience
Strong attention to detail and ability to stay organized
Experience operating equipment
Effective collaboration and clear communication skills
