Job Summary: The Refrigeration Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of equipment and machinery in the dairy plant. This role involves performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to maintain optimal production efficiency and safety standards. Duties:
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on dairy processing equipment, including pasteurizers, homogenizers, pumps, and conveyors.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in a timely manner to minimize production downtime.
Conduct regular inspections of equipment to identify and address potential problems before they escalate.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, parts used, and downtime.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standard operating procedures during maintenance activities.
Collaborate with production and quality control teams to address equipment-related issues impacting product quality or production efficiency.
Assist in the installation of new equipment and the modification of existing systems as needed.
Operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to perform maintenance tasks.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and plant efficiency.
Requirements:
Previous experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a dairy or food processing plant.
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems and their maintenance.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment for troubleshooting.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Physical stamina to perform maintenance tasks, including lifting heavy objects and working in various conditions.
High School Diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance or related field preferred.
