Job functions
- Operating CNC and/or Manual Machines (mills and lathes)
- Performing routine maintenance on machines as necessary.
- Identifying, verifying, and checking quality of parts, tools, and materials used.
- Responsible for quality of parts, tools, and supplies.
- Deciphering job orders and blueprints.
- Using various measuring devices such as calipers and gauges.
- Adjusting fixturing, machine, thread, and checks tolerances on parts.
- Periodically inspecting tools, parts, and equipment for accuracy and/or deficiencies.
- Maintaining documentation and following work orders, accordingly, ensuring all documentation is filled out completely.
- Observing and following all safety rules, attending safety training as necessary.
- Working evening shifts as needed for production.
- May assist with facility maintenance indoors and outdoors.
- Operating forklifts and golf carts as needed to complete job tasks.
Required Skills
- Must have knowledge and experience setting up tooling and fixtures needed to fully operate Manual and/or CNC mills and lathes.
- Ability to demonstrate basic computer skills necessary to operate a CNC mill and lathe.
- Ability to read blueprints with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing symbolic language.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments and electronic testing devices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to read and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Must be detailed with excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Ability to understand and follow all Safety policies and guidelines as required by the job.
- Ability to walk/stand/bend for several hours daily, including working in warehouse conditions.
