This role oversees the operations, maintenance, and repair of ground support equipment to ensure safety, reliability, and efficiency. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who has advanced through the mechanic ranks, values quality and process control, and can step into any role they supervise. Key Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day operations, maintenance, and repair of all GSE.
Ensure equipment safety, reliability, and compliance with OSHA, FAA, and airport regulations.
Troubleshoot issues and coordinate timely repairs to minimize downtime.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs.
Maintain accurate maintenance, repair, and inspection records.
Mentor and supervise the maintenance team: hiring, training, and performance management.
Drive a culture of safety through training, inspections, and process adherence.
Track KPIs related to utilization, costs, and operational efficiency.
Manage vendor and supplier relationships for parts, equipment, and service needs.
Partner with procurement on sourcing parts and new equipment.
Qualifications
Experience: 2+ years in a supervisory role or 10+ years as a mechanic with demonstrated career progression.
Strong technical background in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Proven experience in troubleshooting using diagnostic tools and equipment.
Background in quality control and process improvement.
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced airport environment.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Work may involve outdoor environments, heavy machinery, and varying weather conditions.
Ability to stand/walk for extended periods, bend, stretch, push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to visually inspect equipment and perform hands-on work.
