Job Description

 Machine Operator
Reports To: Shift Supervisor
Hours: 34.5 – 46 hours/week (varies by shift)
Wage Range:
  • Entry-Level (Assistants/Operators-in-Training): $17/hr
  • Advanced Operators: $17–$25/hr
Job summary The Gambini Operator is responsible for running and maintaining the converting equipment to ensure high-quality tissue and towel product output. This role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and knowledge of production specifications.Key Responsibilities
  • Operate all areas of the winder line, including winders, saws, embossers, and core winders
  • Conduct product changeovers, enter machine settings, and adjust for quality specs
  • Perform routine quality checks and adjust equipment as needed
  • Load/unload materials (e.g., parent rolls, cores, glue) and perform machine maintenance
  • Monitor and reduce production waste, complete QC, and waste tracking forms
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues (e.g., paper breaks, misalignments, sensor triggers)
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas, follow all PPE and safety protocols
  • Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors regarding production status and issues
Requirements
  • Mechanical knowledge and the ability to perform hands-on equipment adjustments
  • Ability to read and apply product specs, drawings, and recipes
  • Forklift and crane safety awareness
  • Must adhere to all safety, housekeeping, and quality control standards
