Fire Protection Project Manager
Location: Richmond, VA (must reside locally or be willing to relocate) Compensation: $100,000–$150,000 base salary Relocation Assistance: Up to $10,000 available
Are you a detail-driven construction professional who thrives on bringing large, multi-million-dollar commercial projects to life — safely, efficiently, and on budget? We’re seeking a Fire Protection Project Manager to lead complex fire protection installations from concept to completion.
In this role, you’ll manage the full project lifecycle — overseeing planning, design review, scheduling, and execution for major commercial builds. If you’re motivated by collaboration, problem-solving, and delivering top-quality work on a big stage, this opportunity offers the chance to make a lasting impact with a respected industry leader. What You’ll Do
Lead the delivery of multi-million-dollar commercial fire protection projects, ensuring they meet design, safety, and budget objectives.
Partner with internal departments (pre-construction, CAD/BIM, fabrication, safety, purchasing, etc.) to coordinate all aspects of project execution.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, subcontractors, and vendors — creating a positive, solutions-focused project culture.
Oversee field operations, manpower, and material deliveries to ensure projects stay on schedule with zero safety incidents.
Manage budgets, forecasts, and reports including schedules of values, revenue projections, and cash flow analysis.
Review plans and specifications for constructability and code compliance.
Oversee all change order management — from pricing and documentation to approval tracking.
Support field leadership in maintaining rigorous safety and quality standards.
Manage closeout activities and ensure accurate documentation.
Comfortably juggle multiple projects in various stages while maintaining clear communication and accountability.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred — or equivalent hands-on experience in fire protection project management.
Minimum 3+ years of experience managing large-scale commercial construction projects, ideally focused on fire protection and sprinkler systems.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with a collaborative management style.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Procore and BIM processes a plus.
Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and safety compliance.
Military background a plus — we value discipline, teamwork, and initiative.
