Fire Protection Sprinkler Designer (Remote – U.S.) Lingo Staffing is recruiting on behalf of a large, established construction company based in Virginia. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-respected industry leader. The role is fully remote and open to qualified candidates across the U.S., with standard work hours of 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM EST. Summary/Objective The Fire Protection Sprinkler Designer will be responsible for the design and coordination of fire protection sprinkler systems for a wide range of projects, including industrial, commercial, and residential. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with sprinkler system layouts, codes, and hydraulic calculations, as well as the ability to manage design projects independently. Essential Functions
Design sprinkler system layouts, including wet-pipe, dry-pipe, pre-action, and deluge systems, supported by fire pumps, storage tanks, and related infrastructure.
Interpret architectural drawings and specifications to develop complete fire protection submittal packages in compliance with NFPA standards, building codes, and project requirements.
Perform hydraulic calculations and compile material stock lists.
Create detailed field installation drawings and participate in BIM 3D modeling coordination.
Conduct field surveys as needed prior to fabrication.
Provide closeout documentation and perform facility commissioning of fire protection systems.
Assist field teams with design-related installation issues and system troubleshooting.
Apply sound fire protection engineering principles to address client needs and ensure quality performance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
2–7 years of fire protection sprinkler design experience (construction environment preferred).
Ability to complete design projects independently, from concept through completion.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, HydraCAD, and Revit; experience with BIM/3D CAD software.
Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
Proven examples of large contract design projects.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency.
Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background checks as required.
Ability to work assigned schedules and extended hours as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
NICET Level III or higher certification.
Field installation experience.
Advanced Revit expertise.
Prior military experience.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Work Environment & Travel
Primarily remote, professional office setting.
Occasional construction site visits may be required.
