Door Project Manager / Inside Technical Specialist

Lingo Staffing is partnering with a well-established construction supply company in East Hartford, CT to hire a Division 8 Project Manager / Inside Technical Specialist. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in commercial doors, frames, and hardware who is ready to transition into an office-based position that blends project coordination, technical support, and inside sales.
This is not a traditional commission-driven sales role. Instead, it focuses on managing Division 8 projects from the inside, supporting customers, and using technical knowledge to help drive successful outcomes.
Position Overview
The Division 8 Project Manager / Inside Technical Specialist will support commercial door and hardware projects from pre-bid through completion. This person will work closely with contractors, internal teams, and vendors to prepare quotes, review specifications, coordinate project details, and provide technical guidance. The role also includes inside sales responsibilities such as supporting existing accounts and assisting with new opportunities, without heavy outside sales travel.
Key Responsibilities
• Review plans, specifications, and Division 8 requirements for commercial projects
• Prepare estimates, proposals, and pricing for door, frame, and hardware packages
• Act as an internal point of contact for contractors, customers, and internal teams
• Coordinate project details with estimators, vendors, and installation teams
• Manage multiple Division 8 projects simultaneously from award through completion
• Support inside sales efforts by assisting with customer inquiries, quotes, and order processing
• Build strong relationships with contractors and customers through technical expertise and responsive communication
• Track project and customer activity within internal systems and CRM tools
• Provide technical guidance on commercial door systems, hardware, and access solutions
Qualifications
• Experience with commercial doors, frames, and hardware (installer, estimator, PM, coordinator, or similar background)
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret construction documents and specifications
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects at once
• Comfortable working in an office-based, collaborative environment
• Prior exposure to Division 8 specifications or construction workflows preferred
